This week's pick:

  Temperance Brennan

In a little less than two weeks, season 6 of Bones will premiere on Fox. Bones is my absolute favorite crime drama (followed closely by Criminal Minds which also premieres this month.) A big difference between the two, Bones is based on a series of novels by Kathy Reichs. The characters vary widely from books to tv, but the protagonist is always the same---Temperance Brennan.
She's a genius. Seriously.
She's clueless. You would think being both a genius and clueless would be impossible, but Bones (as Booth refers to her in the show) is definitely both. While there doesn't seem to be a single fact she doesn't know, she's seriously naive when it comes to the way of the world and today's culture. She approaches everything from a scientific point of view, and this creates some serious humor.
I'm quite excited for the season premiere!!!

Sigh. 

If you're unfamiliar with a little thing called "Fight Club", stop what you're doing, and Google it. Seriously.

Tyler Durden. Is that what you'd like me to call you? Who are you right now? It's hard to tell, Tyler, Jack, Nameless? Edward Norton's good and all, but I hope you're in the mood to be Tyler today.

So what if you're smoking. So what if you might just, ya know, snap and kill me or something. So what if you might just be a figment of Jack? Nameless?'s imagination. You are undoubtedly Brad Pitt at his finest moment.

This week, I am smitten with: Lafayette Reynolds

I know, I know....True Blood again. This is the last one from True Blood, I promise. At least for a while. But I just have to get this one out there, and show another side to Smitten on Saturday.

Lafayette Reynolds is hilarious. Every scene involving him is fantastic. Anyone unfamiliar with the books may not know that technically, Lafayette should be dead. He died in the books, and he really wasn't a very big character to begin with. But Nelsan Ellis creates magic in that character, and the show just would not be the same without him!

No one has a meme that I participate in on Saturdays, and today I have no reviews to post, so I decided to start a meme of my own. Though for now it'll just be a feature, and whether or not anyone else participates will decide whether or not it can ever be called a "meme". So....

This week (and every other week for the past year) I am smitten with:

Eric Northman

For those who don't know (does anyone not know?), Eric Northman is  the Sherriff of Louisiana Area 5, in the ever so popular Sookie Stackhouse novels, known on the screen as True Blood. He is over a thousand years old, and was a Viking in his time as a human. I loved Eric in the books, but the on screen portrayal makes me melt. With nearly every episode I feel like I'm reading Dead to the World all over again. If they leave that book out next season, I will die.

Oh, Eric. You arrogant, self-absorbed, callous thing you. Charlaine Harris has blessed you with the ability to be everything every woman wants in man, but is so much better off without.

Of course, we all know deep down there's a sweet, lovable, trustworthy, gentleman. Well, if you're Sookie, anyway.
